Diet and Lifestyle Coaching with Cecile Elias


Interested in losing weight and living a healthier life?  Cecile Elias offers her knowledge and experience with diet and lifestyle coaching though the Primal Blueprint at Moxie Mind & Body.

Jumpstart Package ($300)

This is an in home offering that includes establishing an overall plan, a pantry purge, and a meal plan for the first week.  Cecile will talk to you about your wants and needs and together you will formulate a primal/paleo menu and grocery list.  Together you'll carry out the shopping trip and afterwards Cecile will provide tips on food preparation.  As a bonus of this package, you will receive a weekly 30 minute phone call for the next three weeks and have email access for daily questions and check ins.  This is a one time offer.  $300 for the base 3 hours, with an option of adding hours at $78 per hour.

1 Hour Coaching Session ($80) 

This session includes but is not limited to:  

  • Discussing your personal goals and the current state of your diet and lifestyle (sleep, stress, exercise, etc)
  • Establishing a plan based upon your ancestral health
  • Education on the quality of foods and why we make the choices we do
  • Formulating custom meal plans and grocery lists
  • Providing resources for motivation and support

About Primal Blueprint

The Primal Blueprint is Paleo eating and living with respect to personal tolerances and genetics and can be summed up in the following "laws":

  • Eat a diet of plants and animals
  • Avoid poisonous/toxic things
  • Move frequently at a slow pace
  • Lift heavy items (exert your muscles!  Pilates falls into this and the above category)
  • Sprint once in a while (give it your all, a positive fight or flight response)
  • Get adequate sleep
  • Play
  • Get adequate sunlight
  • Make smart decisions (be present and mindful)

I am a lawyer in Pittsburgh and have been training with Cecile for over two years. I am soon to be 70 but have been energized by my workout sessions with her. We do cardio, lift weights, Pilates, and TRX.

She lives a Paleo/Primal lifestyle and with her help, I have been on mostly Paleo for the last 8 months. I have lost 20lbs and have reduced all my blood numbers into a safe zone. I am a liver transplant patient (September 28, 2010) and am under no medication except for prograff which I will take for the rest of my life.

I found Paleo/Primal by accident. I had been trying to limit my carb intake in an effort to lose weight, so I was focusing more on a high protein, low carb, low fat diet. I did this for about 2 months when I starting hearing the siren song of bananas. I did a little research, including talking to Cecile, and determined that Paleo my be a better choice for me. The more research I did, the more I liked the natural, “eat real food” mantra of Paleo. Most diets require that you purchase their diet bars or shakes, or spend hundreds of dollars on “special” containers. I’d tried them all! Paleo allowed me to eat the food I liked without having to spend extra money on containers, bars or shakes.

Along with not breaking the bank, Paleo helped me to lose weight and feel better. I had so much energy. I was able to get up and go in the morning and keep going until I was finished with my day.

As a type II diabetic for 27 years, I had tried countless programs to control my disease. Most of my efforts ended in frustration, disappointment and weight gain. My initial enthusiasm would dwindle as hunger and cravings overpowered me. Then about 3 years ago, Cecile introduced me to Paleo eating and that’s when I started having some success in weight loss. It was so easy to switch my food to organic and paleo and I dropped 15 pounds without hunger or cravings. Plus, I felt so much healthier and more energetic. Then last year, Cecile put me on a ketogenic diet to help with my diabetes. I was a little worried about giving up the fruit, which I loved, but Cecile was right about Paleo, so I gave this keto thing a try. The first week or so was a bit uncomfortable (nausea) as my body was adjusting to the new fuel source, but I didn’t have any cravings! Within about 6 weeks of gradually reducing my insulin, I finally stopped taking it as my morning blood sugar stayed between 120-130. Also, I dropped another 35 pounds in about 5 months! No hunger, no cravings! My children have never seen me at my current weight of 150 pounds!
